about
"Every city in the world has a Roundabout of Death. If you enter that roundabout you take your life in your hands swerving to avoid crashing on your way to the exit. Tim Jones coined the term for a roundabout in my home town of Melbourne. I always thought it deserved a song. Over the years I have been on roundabouts like this in Mumbai, Delhi, New York, LA, Tokyo, London, Paris and Berlin. And lived to tell the tale.
hmmmm OR
People always talk about reincarnation and being the cycle of rebirth but it's also the cycle of redeath. SO is this song about THAT . . . ?"

lyrics
I didn't think to fill the tank this morning when I left
I closed the door started the car and then I headed West
It wasn't 'til the engine stopped, somewhere inside the penny dropped
A gas guzzler I suppose I should've guessed
Something was stirring in subconscious depths
As I headed for the roundabout of death
A warning light is on the dashboard, looks like a petrol pump
Flashing on and off, saying drop down to the bank
See the gauge is running low, 20 seconds left to go
All that bitumen before an empty tank
I'm changing lanes but will this be my last breath
I'm out of petrol on the roundabout of death
Its the maddest place for traffic in the cosmos
It was unholy ground, before the road was sealed
If I'm out of foot I don't try to walk across it
It's the quickest ticket that you'll get
To the level playing field
Under the bonnet, there's a noise, sounds like a dying herd
20,000 horse power, all set to surrender
I'm peeing in my socks, thinking: Did I change my jocks?
So you can mark all correspondence return to sender.
I'm changing lanes but will this be my last breath
I'm out of petrol on the roundabout of death
